My family moved around a lot when I was growing up, which meant I spent hours weaving fictional worlds for my sister and I to play in to pass the time. When it came time to go to university, it makes sense that I reached for a Bachelor’s in English Literature and Creative Writing (UBC).
While I’ve never completed my lifelong quest to find the Magic Tree House, I’m fortunate to have worked in a variety of different areas—three museums, an academic journal and two lifestyle magazines, destination tourism and post-secondary education—all stitched together by my love of story.
Today, I’m an experienced creative writer, communicator, marketer, and relationship-builder who is passionate about telling stories about real people. I develop and implement multi-channel marketing and communications plans and bring together skilled teams, all to tell stories that audiences respond to.
And maybe there is a little magic in that.
Skills: writing, editing, proofreading, project management, social media management, strategic marketing and communications planning.

These tasks have strengthened my project management, editing, proofreading and collaboration skills.
As the Communications Officer, Foundation and Alumni Relations I was the lead communications professional for the department, advising my colleagues on best practices, while guiding, developing and implementing tactics and initiatives.
